Mental Health Clinician & Counsellor

Dobie is an Accredited Social Worker and Mental Health Clinician, grounded in over 10 years of local and international experience. Dobie's practice is shaped not only by professional training, but also by her lived experience as a migrant. Dobie understands the complexities of identity, cultural adjustment, and finding belonging in a new environment.

Fluent in Cantonese and English, and conversational Mandarin, Dobie offers a culturally sensitive and compassionate space for individuals navigating life transitions, mental distress, trauma, or relationship challenges.

Dobie integrates modernist and postmodernist theories such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, ACT, Emotion-Focused CBT and attachment-based practice, to create a space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to re-author their stories.

Her vision is to support you in a way that feels respectful, collaborative, and empowering—where you're not just heard, but deeply understood. Together, we can explore what healing and change look like for you.

Dobie holds a Bachelor of Social Science (Honours) in Applied Sociology from Hong Kong and a Master of Social Work from Australia, which included 1,000 hours of supervised placement. She has extensive professional experience across hospital acute settings, disability services, family services, community mental health, and child protection—frequently working with individuals who have experienced complex trauma, family violence, and significant life transitions.

She has experience working with clients experiencing a broad range of mental health concerns and disabilities including Depression, Anxiety, Borderline Personality Disorder, PTSD, Adjustment Disorder, Behavioural concerns/changes, Schizophrenia, Bipolar, Addiction, Suicide Ideation and self-harm, Grief, Loss and Trauma and general mental health issues.

As an independent consultant, she upholds a strong commitment to ethical, safe, and high-quality care by engaging in regular clinical supervision, ongoing training, and maintaining appropriate insurances. She also holds current police clearance, Working With Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening clearance to ensure the highest standards of safety and accountability in her practice.

Blessings
